At this time, full account deletion is not possible. However, you have the option to disable your account if you no longer wish to use Fido. We also want to assure you that Fido takes responsible steps to protect your privacy and secure your data.
How to Disable Your Account:
If you want to disable your account, follow these steps:
- Log into the Fido app.
- Go to your Profile page.
- Tap on "Disable" and follow the prompts on your screen to disable your account.
Important: This process cannot be reversed, and once disabled, you will no longer have access to the Fido app.
Alternative Option:
If you're unsure about disabling your account permanently, you can simply uninstall the mobile application. This will be considered a termination of the license agreement to use the app.
Data Retention Policy:
As a regulated financial institution, Fido is mandated to report and retain records in compliance with the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA). Due to these regulations, we are unable to comply with user requests to delete account data.
